PROJECT
CO-ORDINATOR–
DIANNE O'RORKE
Dianne began traveling in the late 1980s and found the excitement, stimulation and challenge of living and working abroad highly addictive. Her fascination with people, and her curiosity about how we live and organize ourselves led to her working, amongst other things, as a cook in a shelter for homeless women in Philadelphia, PA, in Aged Care in the U.K., as an English teacher in Japan and in tourism in Asia, predominantly

Vietnam and China, and taking in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. After working as a tour leader for Intrepid Travel for four years, Dianne designed her ideal trip, gathering together a group of eight people to travel with her to places she particularly wanted to see, through China, Mongolia and Tibet.
It was important to her to be able to do more than simply travel through these remote regions, she wanted to be able to show others something of the remarkable people, cultures and places the group would be visiting. Having assisted Mark in his film projects over the years, it was natural for her to invite him to join the project, knowing he would develop something that was unique, honest and sympathetic, while being visually beautiful to watch.
Dianne's experience traveling around the world has led her to return to Australia where she is currently undertaking a Bachelors Degree in Cultural Anthropology and History. A recipient of a Dean's Recognition Award and member of the Golden Key Association, Dianne has found her studies provide her with a richer voice for speaking her thoughts, a greater depth of understanding of cultural behaviors and beliefs and a keener sense of the global unity of mankind.
Her next project with Mark will be another trip, this time, on the mighty Mekong River, from its source in China (nee Tibet) to the delta region in Viet Nam. She will take eight people, each with a specific interest in areas of Anthropology and film making. Stay tuned for Rhumline 2, Source to Sea.
